Variable Gauss Dry Magnetic Separator Drum

Variable Gauss Dry Magnetic Separator Drum

The most common application of variable Gauss dry magnetic drum separators is in iron ore mines and after crushing and grading the primary iron ore to process valuable iron minerals such as magnetite and hematite.
Another application of these dry drum separators is in other industries such as feldspar, manganese, zinc, chromite and copper to purify the primary mineral from iron (as a disturbing element).

How the variable Gauss dry separator drum works:

The variable Gauss dry drum magnet is used to separate ferrous impurities from the input materials. The drum shell and cover assembly is moving at a certain speed around a fixed magnetic arc. When the input materials are charged on the surface of the drum magnet, non-magnetic materials fall in front of the drum and in a natural path, while magnetic materials are attracted to the drum magnet and circulate on the drum shell until the last magnet presence point and are discharged at the back of the drum. Drum magnets can be made in two groups of ceramic magnets (LIMS) or neodymium magnets (MIMS) and provide magnetic fields with different amplitudes and gradients. Important parameters in the separation efficiency of the drum magnet include the drum speed, the position of the separation blade, the type of magnet elements, the number of poles and the drum size.

Variable Gauss Drum Separators are designed to meet the mining needs for varying magnetic field strengths and reduce production costs (by reducing the number of devices used). As you may know, many mines have different grades of incoming material, and using variable Gauss drums allows miners to change the field strength of the device according to the incoming grade without having to purchase additional equipment or stop the line. In fact, the magnetic field strength of these devices is variable and the device's magnetic field can be changed from Low to Medium or vice versa in a few seconds.

The technology for making variable Gauss drums is in two ways:

1- Ability to design and produce a variable Gauss magnetic drum manually (ability to change the magnetic field intensity manually after dismantling the drum and eventually within one or two days the magnetic field intensity changes) 2- Ability to design and produce a variable Gauss magnetic drum automatically (ability to change the magnetic field intensity automatically from the control room without stopping production and changing the magnetic field intensity in real time)

Advantages of Variable Gauss Dry Separator Drum:

⦁ Ability to change the magnetic field intensity automatically and manually ⦁ Use of drum rollers in a closed chamber to prevent damage to the drum ⦁ Ease of operation and use ⦁ Ability to design and produce in different diameters and lengths ⦁ Use of a vibrating feeder with sufficient length to create a uniform film of charge on the drum ⦁ Ability to design and produce in a diverse range of magnetic field intensities ⦁ Magnetic analysis and simulation before manufacturing the device ⦁ Chinese magnet in two types: Radial and Axial ⦁ Ability to make various adjustments to achieve the desired grade and recovery ⦁ Easy maintenance and repair ⦁ Robust design and structure ⦁ Very high absorption power ⦁ Stability of the magnetic field intensity during operation ⦁ Automatic separation of ferrous parts without the need for human labor ⦁ Permanent magnetic field without electricity or batteries ⦁ Minimum spare parts required ⦁ Long life
